Default New Sky HD 1TB box

http://hcc.techradar.com/blogs/team-...d-def-sky-29-0

Sounds good, i'd prefer it if they just fixed all the bugs in the current one

Another failed recording last night, good job most things are repeated later in the week these days

and sound on some HD channels is terrible.. i switched back to HDMI instead of optical, which is better, but E4 HD last night the volume was jumping up and down

and HD recordings often have huge video-audio sync issues, if you google this its been happening for years with no fixes coming

I have had my Hd box since may 2006, and I too have problems with sound and failed recording, this is happening more frequently lately, if you switch to hdmi you will only get stereo output, apparently the new box still doesn't pass 5.1 through hdmi

We have been offered an upgrade from our normal hd box to the 1Tb version for £249 - is it better to do this or fit a 1tb hard drive in our existing hd box?

That's not an upgrade, for £249.00 you can buy one yourself, I have heard that Sky were sending leaflets to upgrade for £149.00
The new box is smaller and faster, but still has 2 tuners, and still no 5.1 out of the hdmi, maybe if you call sky and tell them about the £149.00 offer they might get you one, good luck
