Anybody nice enough to interpret the graphs for me?

I want to know if T1 is good enough for small listening areas. Although another review says the T1's real +/- 3db is 58Hz while this review is +/-28Hz.

Thanks!

Yes, it's OK for small areas which will help to boost its low end through room gain. Say, where the room's longest dimension is less than 14ft. It will also help to reduce the harmonic distortion at the bottom end from what we show here.

Our frequency response measurements are consistent with the manufacturer's spec of 36 - 102Hz +/- 2.1dB. I'm not sure where you have seen the 58Hz quoted but if it's in the Sound&Vision review, you are looking at a totally different thing. There they were measuring the accuracy of the low-pass crossover control on the sub which is marked down to 30Hz but in fact the turnover frequency remains at 58Hz when the knob is turned to anywhere from mid-position or below. That is a critique of the quality of the crossover design and execution in the sub. If you don't need to set such a low crossover, it won't be a problem.

Thank you so much for the reply.

I got the information of the 58Hz crossover from the Sound&Vision with link : http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/speakers/2823/rel.html

A friend is offering a a fairly good price for this subwoofer and my room is relatively small 130 sq.feet. I want deep bass since I only use my system for 100% HT.

I plan to use the T1 with an SMS-1 to equalize the subwoofer to my room. Is this advisable?

Thanks again.

The SMS-1 is a good unit and is easy to use. But it's not cheap in relation to the sub. While the sub may give you adequate extension in that size room, being a small box, it won't deliver room-shaking sound levels. We all have different tolerances to sound levels and our own ideas of what constitutes "loud" so it may well be perfect for you. If you find you want more SPL, you might be better spending the extra on a second sub and positioning it carefully and then you may find you don't really need the EQ at all.
