This has been mentioned in other threads but since buying one I think it deserves it's own thread... it really works :o~:-o~

The CD features three tracks of various noise, pops, clicks and frequency sweeps that supposedly burn-in speakers and other components in the chain and also demagnetises the system.

I've been aware of these types of discs for ages but always viewed them with a lot of cynicism but after some positive comments here I thought it had to be worth £15 as all my speakers are still probably not properly run in yet so I could get the benefit in two systems.

Anyway, I've heard several people say that after listening to these discs do their business anything would sound fantastic so I decided to set the disc running on my 2 channel system when I went out for the morning. When I came back I put on a couple of CDs I know well and was quite surprised at the difference in the sound. The high frequencies especially sounded better, clearer but also slightly smoother. The whole soundstage has opened up further also, not by a huge amount but it is noticeable - my Leemas now sound the best I've ever heard them, and I loved them anyway!

I then ran the disc through my AV system and, to my astonishment, found that after doing so the very slight touch of sibilance that I'd heard on several Sky channels has vanished and (this is even more weird) my DD-15 now seems to work more smoothly, deeply and with more of a full sound - again, not that it was too shabby beforehand. In order to get some objective proof that I was hearing what I thought I was, I ran the DDs on-screen frequency sweep and found that I have now been able to lower one of the EQ sliders at the 15Hz by 4dB and still have the same curve I had before. I have never been able to do that prior to running the disc.

Unfortunately Isotek's own spiel about the product reinforce some of the 'snake oil' comments that many will make in connection to such products but, as far as I'm concerned, this was fifteen quid very well spent. It'll be interesting to see whether the recommended weekly demagnetising has ongoing benefits but even if it doesn't, it's worth getting hold of one of these discs.

I got it here (http://www.hifi4less.com/ISOTEK_System_Enhancer_CD.htm). They got it out to me within about 3 days I think. Nobody seems to discount the disc so this place is as good as any other I guess.

There are three tracks on the CD. One is for systems using standmount/smaller speakers without a sub, one is for large, bass capable speakers or systems with subs and the third track is a short 'tune up' track which they say should be played every couple of days if the system hasn't been in use constantly.

I played track 2 through both systems once through - it takes about 30mins I believe. The shorter track is maybe 5mins long.

I played it at very slightly above my normal listening levels, although their instructions say it doesn't need to be played loud in order to work.

EDIT: of course, if your speakers are 10 years old or very well run-in you might not get all the benefits I noticed, but I still think it's worth buying - after all, most of us change speakers on a fairly regular basis so it's something that can be used over and over.

I have had lots of experience with this disc and yes it does work. The trick is to leave it running on 'repeat' for as many hours as you can, figuring one hour of Isotek = four hours of music. Most systems need between 100 and 200 hours of use to settle in so 25 hours on the Isotek should be ample. Leave it on, at relatively low volume, for a few hours a day and as Juboy says you will hear the difference.

Works on all systems - car, hi-fi, cinema - and will also show benefits on an old system.
