Went to the Xbox 360 tour in Birmingham yesterday, and thought Avt could do with someone giving their 2 pence worth..
As you'd expect from microsoft, nice big room, nicely branded, DJ, white leeather sofa's about 50 xbox 360's around.
turn up, get a wrist band for free entry to the next 30 min session. only about 30 odd people in on a sun afternoon, so easy to play any and every thing.
360's plugged in samsung 26" lcd's i think.
each game has a sign above it saying how completed.
Kameo, nice and colourful, faily fast, reminded me of link and legend of zelda, interesting characters, cut scenes, and similar controls.
call of duty 2. good graphics, I guess, not mind blowing. seemed to have lots of things to it, not sure it's my fav FPS though.
Gun, a cowboy one, road around on a horse a bit, controls a bit confusing, landscape and background graphics a bit dull, perhaps not finished yet.
condemned, looks nice and eerie, quite claustraphobic, although perhaps somewhat slow.
king kong - big, nice looking graphics, cut scenes looked a bit ropey. not great controls of movement.
PGR3 - nice backgrounds, dead fast, controls okay, but the car(ferrari) looked appalling ? how did that work?
perfect dark zero - nice grpahics, lots in it, played twoplayer, where the other follows another route though the level, slow though, not a fast game unfortunately.
need for speed, backgrounds okay, car models looked good, better than pgr3, but not as fast a game - perhaps because it was a golf rather than ferrari.
xbox 360 controller, wasn't blown away by it, but that is probably because they are stuck on metal stalkes, that stop you really holding it.
good event, but they don't really seem to be targetting the kiddie market.
wasn't blown away by any game unfortunately. all of the above would be good to play/own, but couldn't tell which is best.
any other views?
