View Full Version : Tomb Raider Legend Demo

I was undecided about this game, especially after seeing the motorbike section in the game trailer, which looked utterly awful. I thought the demo was worth a go, and I was really enjoying the return to old-school TR gameplay until I came across a log that requires traversing after setting off a see-saw effect. The log has branches which serve as obstacles along its path, and after falling off 6 or 7 times I switched off the demo in frustration.
I wouldn't mind if it was solely down to poor skill on my part, but the detection seemed seriously ropey, with moments standing in thin air after clearing the branches with a jump. Coupled with the controls which don't seem to have enough 'levels' of analogue movement, this just ruined the demo for me.
Anyone else tried it? Did I give up too soon?

Carl, I will put the answer in a spoiler below
I completed the demo last night and thought it was excellent and a return to the old style tombraider
Trouble is all the games at the moment are costing me a fortune

Thanks for the tip. I'm glad there is an easier solution as I was really enjoying the demo up to that point.
It might be worth a buy tomorrow, though I am still very wary of the motorbike section I saw in the trailer, it looked really rubbish. Why can't they just stick with the platformer aspect, it's easily the strongest portion of the game. I'm not even keen on the combat, so I hope there isn't too much of that. For me, TR was always about the exploration and platforming, which the first game really excelled at. Since they added more to the mix, they have only served to dilute the core (geddit?) appeal of the game.
Will d/l this tonight, cheers for the heads up :D~:-D~
Had a quick go last night. Sexy looking but still the same old thing, climb, jump to another ledge, climb some more then fall and repeat the process over again :D~:-D~
