HD-DVD and BLUE RAY region free?

I read somewhere that HD-DVD and Blue Ray are gonna be region free... anyone know anything about this?

HD-DVD appears to be region free (guys in the US have played Japanese discs on a US machine and vice versa).

Blu Ray looks like it will still have it, but be 3 regions instead of 6. Japan and the US are in one, Europe and Oz in another, and cant remember what the third one was.

Put me on the list for HDDVD. Discs wanted "matrix" "swordfish" "Fifth element" (again)

Matrix and Swordfish are scheduled for this summer on HDDVD (According to the leaflet I got with TLS). Fifth Element is from Columbia so you wont be seeing that on HDDVD.
