View Full Version : Cable upgrade
13-09-2003, 01:00 PM
I have recently upgraded to a Rotel amp and M&K speakers and was thinking it might be a good time to buy better quality connectors and speaker cable.
The stuff I have at the moment is from Richer Sounds (oh the shame!). I am using Gale 315 speaker cable and the Cambridge Pacific connectors.
What would be a good upgrade? Or are these cables good enough?
I would need at least 50 metres of speaker cable, so I dont really want to have to spend more than 4.00 or 5.00 per metre.

I love you David :o~:-o~ :D~:-D~
At just under £4 per meter, the Ecosse CS2.3 does a great job.

someone must  the Gale speaker cable you have is a decent cable and I would keep that for your rears and get something better for your fronts. personally I like Kimber and would go for the 4VS (stripped)-you can always return it if you don't like it, but I finally went to it like this-(front three)
Tandy-Gale 189-cable talk 3.1-cable talk cocert 2.1-Kimber 4VS and now double runs of 4VS (I can't bi-wire) the 4VS gave me great gains over all the others. :)~:-)~
EDIT: crossed with Erics post-that's how slow my typing is

The Ecosse CS2.3 is good stuff as Eric says. I'd also consider Cable Talk 4.1, excellent at c.£4.50 a metre.
With Rotel and M&K you're probably after the most neutral cable at the price, which probably tips the nod to the CS2.3

How sweet it is to be loved by you all 8)~8-)~
Thanks for the advice, I have seen the Ecosse at 3.75, so the price is right
