well I've been usig the ATi amp. for a few days now, mainly in stereo with the sub. switched out of the circuit ( I normally use a CHT10 at speaker level for music ) in order to work the amp more-but no way have I been able to stretch it.
my little Dyn 42s have surprised me too both with the lows they can put out and the way they can pressurise my room on their own.
I can not stay in the room with the volume above -28db on my Sony va555es (used as preamp-analogue direct)
the sound is magic, this is a muscle amp with the grace and dexterity of a ballet dancer, it has massive dynamic authority but is nimble and delicate when the music demands it. the energy in a guitar string is palpable and you can feel the skin of the drum stretch with any heavy beats.
as for detail this amp has revealed layers of sound on my cds that I had never heard before, I swear it would pick up the sound of a feather landing on the floor.
the soundstage is a 3D wall of sound making instruments easy to place with their own air around them.
I've not had chance to watch a dvd in full yet but the introductory globe etc on T2 knocked me back in my seat and the robotic stomp went right down into the coalmine that my house is built on.
I have not owned a power amp. previously but I have auditioned quite a few, and I've never heard one with the authority, grip and agility of this amp.
This is the finest piece of hardware I have bought to date and I am more than happy with it.
