the bluray camp have just anounced that no production company who make adult films (porno) for a better description will not under any circumstances be granted a licence to use blueray,
this has also been confirmed by sony in the past few days.
hd dvd camp led by toshiba recognise that a huge amount of dvds sold are adult.
the members of avn (adult studios in usa)are in talks with hd dvd camp as we speak.
remember porn on betamax was hard to find

I wonder if this is just a reaction because the porn industry has already decided on HD-DVD, so I read anyway :)~:-)~

Well that's the complete opposite of what the Sony Pictures insider over at AVS has been saying. All he said was that Sony will not produce porn using their replication facilities in the US (and this is no different to their policy for DVD). Up until now Sony was the only company offering Blu Ray replication, but I believe two other companies have now got their replication lines up and running, so shouldn't be an issue anymore.

I wish people would stop bringing this up, because the world has moved on since the VHS/Betamax days. Adult Entertainment, whilst a key market, does a lot of business online nowadays, which has significantly reduced the impact of decisions like these.
Further, it wasn't the ONLY thing that sealed the deal for VHS - it was one of many different things which came together for them; a fact forgotten by those who treat it as the defining moment of any format war.

Looks like adult films are going to get a lot more expensive, and not due to the cost of the discs...
