Hi guys
I haven't posted for a while (new job = limited net access) and guess what, my first post is asking for help
I won't bore you with the details of all my amp troubles again but I do have a quick question. I got my new replacement amp a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the pause in sound during the layer change was greater than the pause in picture. It's only short but it really bugged me. Then I put on Shrek and found I missed half the comments made in the animated menus as the amp kept checking to see if it was a DTS or DD soundtrack. I tried turning off auto and selecting DD but there is no option (that I can see) to do so. I seem to remember reading that this was a known problem and subsequently fixed by Marantz, with modified equipment displaying a green dot on the back but am unable to find any info on this. I am going back to 7oaks AGAIN on Saturday and would like to arm myself with a bit more knowledge before I go in. Can anyone help?
Secondly, if I have been given an old, and faulty amp, by 7oaks I'm considering going for a full refund. If I do this, and get one, I'll have £400 burning a hole in my pocket. I'd like to get another Marantz amp - the 5300 sounded great, when it was making a sound - but this whole experience has left a bad taste. What other amps would you guys suggest at this price point? Main requirement is movies but decent stereo performance would be nice.
Thanks in advance for any advice given :D~:-D~
