Has anyone used Van Dammes range of speaker cables?
They look like they have potential (the pro range), and are a nice blue colour.

I've been using Van Damme for some time. (The Pro versions) To be honest I subscribe to the sceptic viewpoint where cables are concerned. Their speaker cable satisfies my technical requirements and I cannot tell the difference between these and 100amp mains cable so I recommend them.

I posted this on 'the other place' aswell and have had the same sorta conculsion.
I'll look into buying a drum of the stuff and selling the spare that I don't require.

They do cut lengths of the Pro stuff if you want them.

Cheaper to buy a 50m drum. I'd probably use about 25-30m of it anyway.
Costs £132 for 50m (£2.64/m) from Maplin, so I suspect it can be had even cheaper than that elsewhere. Normal lengths are £3.29/m at Maplin.
VDC Trading have it at £1.96/m for the sort of lengths I want.
Maybe I'll drop by their shop sometime I'm in London,.

VDC are very good on mail order although you have to pay carriage of course.
Have you looked at CPC?

Looked at CPC, and VDC are cheaper.
They are based in London somewhere so I could easily drop by some time and collect anyway.

Sorry I haven't got you those plugs yet...been busy. Might try today.
Regarding speaker cable. Can I suggest you look at buying a drum of Ixos gamma geometry speaker cable. I believe speaker cable does make a difference, but that it shouldn't cost a bundle. This stuff is VFM in my book......

No problem. The BFD won't arrive with Mason until Tuesday, I think, and Maplin sent me the wrong cable, so I'm waiting for the right stuff to arrive now.
I guess the Ixos Gamma stuff is the 3 'core' purple stuff, never used it myself, but I think it was used in the in-car dept for a bit.

vdc trading are based just off Pentonville Road near Kings Cross.
It's not so much a shop more of a head office with their workshop downstairs, Normally orders are ready for collection by the next day. So if your ordering a drum phone in advance so they have it ready.
First Class service aswell.
