View Full Version : Any cheap(er) places to buy decent speaker cable from?

The main reason for this is that the length of the rear speaker cables will be quite long and is also working out expensive. Once again I would appreciate your help! Cheers. PS If there are any cable recommendations this would also help.

www.hificables.co.uk and www.superfi.co.uk are quite reasonable.
Cable Talk 3.1 is pretty good for rears and pretty cheap.
You can actually pick up some decent speaker cable bargains on eBay quite regularly believe it or not :D~:-D~

Used QED original on my sides and rears on UE's recommendation and haven't been disappointed.
Bought from hifcables as juboy suggests at £2.00 per metre plus £4 for the airlock bananas. Prices fluctuate considerably along with delivery charges, so shop around.

Er, (hangs head in shame) have you tried some good old two core mains cable? Not as bad as you may think, I read a thread elsewhere on the forum that Quad recently used it at a show for their main speakers!!! :o~:-o~ http://www.avtalk.co.uk/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=3032&am p;rid=155&S=edd003e61eee28812bd04ecdca75fb5b&pl_vi ew =&start=0#msg_31729 (http://www.avtalk.co.uk/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=3032&rid=155&S=edd003e61eee2881 2bd04ecdca75fb5b&pl_view=&start=0#msg_31729)
Cheap as chips, it's what runs to my rears, keep the ends clean/DeOxit them, use a reasonable thickness of cable and I don't think you'll seriously notice that it's not 99.999% pure copper!
