View Full Version : How to Connect My TV/VCR/DVD/DIGIBOX together

Hello there first posting i would like help with connecting up my AV equipment i have the following



1. Hitachi TV with 2 scart sockets 1 RGB 1 S-Video

2. JVC S-VHS VCR with 2 scart sockets

3. Wharfedale M5 DVD with 1 RGB Scart.

4. NTL Digibox(Pace) with 2 scart sockets.



I would like also to be able to record from DVD to VCR and aslo Pay to view films so some idea as to macrovision disablers i have seen the sonel macmaster pro also i have seen the Quintro Control Centre and would like to incorporate that into my system i am also looking for some budget surround sound speakers to hook up to my DVD as my TV sound is rubbish can anyone please help as i am totally baffled as to where to proceed.Regards hagman777 :)~:-)~:smile:

You don't have enough RGB sockets on your TV to take full advantage of the RGB output from the digibox and the DVD player so you would need to buy an RGB switching box. In the meantime, I would recommend:



Pace digibox --S-Video--> JVC VCR (via loopthrough SCART) --S-Video--> TV



DVD --RGB--> TV



As for Macrovision, you can get a SCART lead which will disable it in the DVD player, but you can only record PAL to VHS, unless you also have an NTSC VCR. Why you would want to do this though is beyond me - the quality will be pants compared to the DVD.
