I liked him, but didn't think he was the 'best of the best'. When's that Polish judge gonna release a single?

I think he deserved to win it - He didn't look like a pop idol but he could sing well.
The Belguim Rock singer did well also considering he entered a pop and not rock idol.

I think it was hard for some of them to show what they could do with just one song. That german guy really made a mistake with his jumping about song - but in the short clip of him winning in germany he sounded good. I also think the aussie messed up with the 'arrangement' of the song he sang.. as he seemed to have an amazing voice.

To be honest, I thought he was a class above the other male performers in terms of vocal ability. Sadly, you only see that kind of talent on the session circuit these days. I don't think Will Young really did himself justice either.
It was all a bit farcical, but it did prove one thing.... how overrated U2 are. :D~:-D~

Well a good voice is only one aspect of being a successful 'pop idol', however its one of the only aspects of being a good session singer, so it makes sense really.
The show did seem a bit like they couldnt be bothered to spend much time on it, the judges were mostly rediculous. Seeing as how drawn out each countries show is (if they are the same as ours), then to only have one show with one song each seems a little strange. However, if they had done a 5 or 10 week thing I dont think many people would have been interested anyway :)~:-)~
So I think I just concluded that it was a bit pointless as a contest - but it was interesting to see the other winners.

It was one hour shows every week in Norway, and the show last night made ann all time record for the channel showing it.

For how long though? Here we had weeks of the initial auditions at various places round the country.. then a load of shows where about 10 people sang and 2 got through to the final 12 or so, then the final where 1 person was eliminated each week. So the last few finalists had sung quite a lot of times by the end.

We had a simular setup, but I didn't watch it in the beginning so I can't tell exactly how it was. There was 4 people in the final though.

I thought he looked like a nice bloke, genuinely surprised that he'd won.
Probably the funniest moment of Christmas TV was when Kelly Clarkson's maths finally clicked and she realised she couldn't win... talk about miffed
