For a great Phono - Phono sub cable have a look at this (http://www.avtalk.co.uk/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=1267&start=0&rid=77&SQ=10734757 09) powerbuy.
As for demo DVD's there are alot, but have a look here (http://www.svsubwoofers.com/faq.htm#moviedemos) for some of the best.
Of newer bass heavy DVD's I can mention Finding Nemo and Bad Boys II.

The DTS version of the Final Destination II motorway pile up will also showcase your subwoofer nicely, as well as it being a good film in it's own right.
Cheers for the replies, think I am gonna run with the 10m cable supplied to establish the best position of the sub, then purchase the appropiate length.
Any rules of thumb to assist in positioning the sub?

Somwhere between the two front speakers and away from corners is usually recommended. You just have to try different positions and try to listen what sounds best to you.
One way is to position the sub at the seating position then go (crawl) around the room and listen for the position where the bass sounds best.
