I've just received a mailer from RA offering 2 for one on the 1m Yello Power cable for 29.95.

Has anyone tried them, are they any good?

I use them as well as the more expensive powerkords and for the price with this offer they are well worth the money. You will be able to return them if you are not happy with them.

Have to agree with Phil, at £15 each they're a no-brainer. I use them for my bi-amp set-up and run all my other hi-fi from YellO extensions. They do make a difference.

I especially notice a difference with the one I use to my Sky digibox... the change in PQ is instantly noticeable when you swap back to a freebie lead.

Although I would say that The Umbilical power cable far outperforms the YellO (but it is more expensive too).

Bit of a stupid question but how hard are they to install?

they come supplied with a 13a mains plug one end and an iec plug the other, which is ideal if that's what you are replacing, if you leads are captive you can cut your lead off (while unplugged of course) and fit an iec socket , or get the soldering iron out.

:o~:-o~ Just looked on the RA website and this is not a true 2 for 1 offer, 1m Yello leads are £24.95 on the website, still cheaper but naughty marketing eh?

The normal catalouge price for a Yello is £29.95. I was in his factory shop today and the 2 for price of 1 offer is limited to those who were mailed the voucher i.e people on the mailing list who have yet to buy to entice them into Russ's cluthes.

If you were sent this offer then I suggest you take it up, you could probaly make money by putting them on ebay if you don't wanna keep them ;)~;-)~

I'd just phone them and say you were sent the offer and order them over the phone. Bonesy posted the offer code in the 'Special Offers' forum, just use that

I can see the price "from £24.99" in the mains lead section but it does not say this is a 1 metre with iec even though this is I believe the starting point. I would imagine the website price is out-dated and that anyone who was sent the offer would also have a catalogue with the price at £29.99. The last S/H one I bought from him was £22 so a brand new one with delivery for £15 is a steal.

I think so too, that website is pretty poor for an essentially mail order company. RA have been saying for about 6 months now that their all-new ecommerce site will be live 'soon' so they've probably let the old site run to seed.

I have to agree that the website is very poor for a mail order company. It took a long time (seemed like 2 years!) from them saying a new one was on the way for his website to be updated to what it is now (which looks better but didn't seem to offer much more content). Online ordering was I think supposed to be included back then and has been talked about for a long time.

Maybe they want to ensure that it is up to the award winning level of his mail order catalogues and are struggling to find a worthy programmer up here in the wild
