I am looking to buy a decent component cable and have noticed that there Blue Jeans Cable website in America is selling Belden cables which seem to be the same as the Scorpion cables but the prices are much cheaper even allowing for vat.
Has anyone bought from this company before at www.bluejeanscable.com Thank You

I've used them a couple of times in the past (before Scorpion) and they were very quick and the cables are well made. I did get hit by customs once though (about £15 on 10m of component cables).

There are no hidden costs. Quite simply, the price difference is reflected in the additional cost of parts. Unfortunately Belden cable reels here in the UK are considerably more expensive than those sold in the US, as you would expect from a quality US made cable.
Certain Canare parts must be imported directly from the US where full VAT, Duty, Brokerage Charges & Royal Mail/Parcel Force clearance fees apply. This is a far cry from a single VAT charge of 17.5%, amounting to as much as 30%.
Market forces & buying power play a part here. I have no idea how big an operation Blue Jeans run but I can only assume from their pricing structure that they are buying in huge quantities. Fact - the cost to Scorpion of producing a 1m Component Video cable is more than the Blue Jeans US retail price. Arriving at a pricepoint takes much more than cost & profit into consideration - perceptual value (in terms of competing products) is an important process. We aim to compete with and beat popular brands of interconects sold here in the UK, both in price and in quality of product. We are unable compete with the US in terms of price, but we can compete with anyone in the world in terms of quality and service.
Not all Blue Jeans cables are cosmetically finished in the same way as Scorpion cables - Digital Coaxial being an obvious example. Additional costing applies here, both in product and time.
Scorpion will make cables to your exact specification, thoroughly test all cables before posting, endorse a lifetime guarantee, and offer free help and advice where possible.
The decision lies with you. Whichever outlet you choose, you will end up with one of the best Component Video cables money can buy.
