New Have I Got News For You presenter unveiled

Comedian Alexander Armstrong is to be the new permanent presenter of Have I Got News For You.

He beat off several big names such as Jack Dee, William Hague and Anne Robinson to replace Angus Deayton.
:o~:-o~

Reasonable choice, but I would have quite liked for Jimmy Carr to do it, since he was excellent when he was on as a guest presenter, and is a funny guy anyway.

Not sure he'd be the kind of person who most viewers would want however, and in that respect Alexander is probably the better choice.

EDIT: Typo

I'm not a big fan of Martin Clunes but I thought he did it really well.

Well chaps.

I though Alexander Armstrong was easily the best guest presenter they had. Same style of delivery as Deaton.

Excellent choice

(Big ears though - in a Wogan style  )

Oddly enough, I was pondering the very question the other day after seeing a repeat and thought Armstrong would be a good replacement. I also agree that Jimmy Carr could work but think he'd get on the nerves of the regulars with his retorts and so wouldn't have been their choice. And let's face it, they are like the mafia of the show for decisions.

Martin Clunes was great, wasn't he Eric, and I'm not a massive fan of his either. He'd be unlikely as a replacement as he'd swear too much at people who annoyed him :D~:-D~

Good news anyway.
