Come on Eric, hes having a laugh isn't he? Surely he should have waited for the EQ version to be available.

and with the utilization of ARC Minus 1, the sound stage is much more cohesive and focused.
He can't be much good with an SPL and tape measure.

I know mate :D~:-D~
The sad thing is though, folks wanting the next upgrade, likely to be their EQ will have to have V3 with Mic's and pay up anyway. :(
Not me though. I still believe EQ is at it's most effective in the lower frequencies and I already have a cure for that in the form of a shiny big black box
I wonder what frequency limit they will pick for the EQ. I know what you mean about the DD, but EQ up to 300-500 Hz would be nice.

You're not the only one.
Here's what THX think about 'room EQ solutions':
<table border="0" align="center" width="90%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td class="SmallText">Quote:</td></tr><tr><td class="quote">
It is our overwhelming experience that proper EQ of a system can be beneficial, but ONLY if the operator knows exactly what he's doing. Automated systems are mostly junk. Systems that provide EQ above 1K or so are mostly junk. Octave systems are junk. Lexicon and Meridian both have systems that are showing promise but we've not yet finished our evaluations. The Meridian system in particular has a prayer of improving the system rather than simply changing it.
Some rules of thumb follow:
Use EQ only as the last step in calibration. Good speakers, properly located in a good room with properly located seating, should all come first.
EQ in the bass region only. Usually <200Hz
Parametric is best, but 12 th octave can be somewhat useful.
More than two sections of EQ per channel are usually too many.
Cut only no boost.
Steady state measurements such as RTA only reveal part of the problem and have only approximate correspondence to human perception.

Hmmm maybe. I think the wavelengths are still a little on the short side in those regions to make any viable difference though.
The jury is out for that one, IMO anyway. Still wouldn't mind a listen though
*Edit. Whoops, didn't see SG's post :?~:-?~:???:

I had to explain that over at the Meridian forums, people were quite surprised that Lex had something better than Meridian planned.
Why they can't just lump the whole thing in as a package deal, instead of having a fairly pointless interim upgrade that's required for the next proper upgrade, I will never know :?~:-?~:???:
