View Full Version : Tag 32R Glitch?

Quick qestion for any who knows a bit about tag, when i change sound modes the tag doesnt change like....
direct > direct + sub changes on screen but not actual processing?
direct + sub > tmsuround or + sub (both seem to be the same) changes on screen and processing
tmsuround or + sub > direct or + sub changes on screen but not actual processing?
Somtimes you have to flick round a few times to get it to change, to start i thought it was me but the other night i realised there was somthing amiss. The other little problen i noticed the other night is a ocassional drop out like a quick fade in and out or a little slip in the sound but i dont know if its the tag or the arcam but the tag doesnt mute itself as if the stream has stopped?
any advice would be well apreciated images/smiley_icons/icon_thumbsup.gif

Can I ask, re the Tag, do you have the latest software?
Also the drop out problem also seems like it's Tag related.

My AV32r doesn't change the surround mode if I flick through too quickly. It's exactly as you describe, the on screen changes but the processing stays the same.
Never had sound fade ins and outs though. But my DV88 does suffer from the occasional DTS dropout.
Try going through the surround modes a bit more slowly.

The dropouts seem to be a dv88 problem (better but still there on later dv88 software) - but the tag makes the problem more apparent the way it mutes stuff when it changes.
Not noticed the surround mode problem on my av32r.

The firmware/software is v3.75 so i think thats the latest?, As stupid as it might sound ive not played a dvd since i got the tag only cd`s, when i had the 88+ hooked up to my AVR200 by phono`s i never noticed it but, i put the latest software on it and now i use it as a transport im not sure wots up?
The worst thing is its never constant, if i hear it and go back thought the cd it may not happen again?
nice one rich, maybe it is just me being inpatient :D~:-D~
Eric, when you were over it happened, not on texas but the cd i had in there, i dont know if you`d remember but you were at the computer and i played it after a few seconds it droped out and i took it out and tried to clean it but it was fine and didnt do it again when i put it back in?

Lee, now that you mention it I do remember. Why don't you bring up another disc spinner and hook it up onto the tag.
You'll soon suss the culprit.
If its the Arcam you can give them a ticking off. Particularly as they said they checked the machine over and sent it back to you saying theres nothing wrong with it.

Il have to pinch the sony and give it a try, if it is the arcam it getting to be a joke, i sent it back to the dealer who`s a authorised repair guy (they dont send em back to arcam unless its serious as it cost em money  )to do with the transport mech as it was rattling and stuff and the guy said they tested it and opened it up and check it out but there was nothing wrong with it, but too be fair since it come back it hasnt done it, oh well out the pan in to the fire
