Anyone watched this last night?
The series created a huge buzz in the States when it was screened there a few months ago. Since then, this six part series picked up several awards.
The second chunk is on tonight and as I missed last nights half way point, I'll now wait for the DVD :(

i caught a few glimpses of it last night and it was bizarre to the extreme, a look at the Regan-era and focusing on a few characters dealing with HIV (who also keep seeing angels :o~:-o~ and having visions!!). Not exactly feel good TV.

B****cks, I knew I was supposed to set the sky+ for something last night. Anyone know if this will be repeated anytime soon?

tbh I didn't see any reason for it to receive all the praise it did except for being different to anything else on US TV (it reminded me of one of those 'all-star' cast drama things that c4 and sky do every now and again)and the fact that al pacino was in it.

I saw bits yesterday, notably caught some fine Pacino moments, but how was this written up as supposed to be? From what I could make out, it was life as either a homosexual with HIV/AIDS or a mentalist in the Reagan years and so life from their warped pospective. It all seemed a bit to camp in places, with the exception of Al, and with naff special effects. Plus the bit that these people were prophets to The Messenger appeared nonsensical to any religious doctrine, with the possible exception of the nutty woman - God's children and all that.
Not one I'll be buying due to it appearing a bit too stylish and clever but without it really being either. So yet another bunch of fine actors in a messy piece of media.

I quite enjoyed it... nonsense at points but a nice antidote to 'I'm a Celebrity'.

Finally made it through to the end, had to watch it to see for myself, in chunks off Skyplus+.

I watched this over the last two nights. Took me by surprise as it wasn't anything like I expected it to be nor did it go in any of the directions I expected! It was totally bonkers and I really enjoyed it.
Am a bit confused why:

I picked this up really cheap a few weeks ago, still didn't manage to see it, but seeing that I'm nearly done with Without a trace, I will answer this weekend.
