can someone help me to find out what bass management stands for. I heard the pioneer 2011 won't have bass management and option to adjust the bass and trebele with the multichannel (dvd audio, sacd) option.

Bass management generally means taking the lower frequencies out of your speakers and passing them to your sub. For movies there is a sub channel (the .1 in 5.1), but there will also be low frequencies in the other 5 channels - this may be better handled by your sub depending on what the rest of your speakers are.
With movies your dvd player feeds your processor digitally and it can easily handle this bass management, filtering off the low frequencies from the main channels and sending them to the sub. However, with DVD-A and SACD your player is feeding an analogue signal to your processor (no digial format for this has been agreed on, although some manufacturers are doing it). These analogue signals are fed through 6 standard interconnects, its the player that has decoded the signal so it is in a better position to do the bass management.
So you need to look at the player you have (or are getting) and see if that has bass management, especially if you use a sub/sat speaker setup.
