I know this has been discussed before, but it starts tonight doesnt it?

Is anyone waiting for the DVD... i really dont know what to do! I dont really have a means of recording it if i am out.

Is it going to be repeated on other nights?

It's on Sky One Mix, Sundays, 10pm.

Have you noticed how long the slot is that SKY have given 24? I believe its an hour long show in the US. On BBC2 it was naturally 45 mins. SKY? an hour and a quarter. :o~:-o~ There will be a few ad's then! I've downloaded the first few eps. I think I'll watch them instead of SKY.

Cheers NM :)~:-)~

£7 million divided by 24 means they need nearly £300,000 revenue from each episode to break even just on buying the rights, let alone the marketing budget they must have had for it :o~:-o~

Obvious point to those who are going to watch it on Sky, but keep the 24 stuff in the relevant threads and remember your spoiler tags :)~:-)~

Yes, absolutely. or better still, just label the thread as "(Spoilers)" and talk freely among yourselves

I'd vote for spoiler tags as well, please, otherwise people who use the "Unread posts" functionality might wander into your thread by mistake...

Thanks,

Charles.

For those who don't know, Spoiler tags are simple to add to posts...

{spoiler} to begin hidden text

type text

{/spoiler} to end hidden text

using [ and ] to replace the { and } used above.

As a demo:

<div class="dashed" style="padding: 3px;" align="center" width="100%">Reveal Spoiler (javascript://)<div align="left" id="2858043281704471081" style="visibility: hidden;">

24 Series 3 secrets revealed here!

</div></div>

Please do use spoiler tags with any text that might give away plot lines or hint at giveaways. And remember, not everyone watches 24 'live' and many will wait for the DVD, so timescale is not an issue - all spoliers at any time should be hidden. Thanks

Ooh forgot about that. Good thinking!

Yes, please hide spoilers unless the title makes it clear that spoilers will be contained within. I'll certainly appreciate it.

I'm still going to wait for the DVD...even though it's going to be so hard with Sky's habit of spoiling shows each week through adverts and announcements :banghead:

I've watched Buffy/Angel on Sky for two years and they ruined one plot twist every week :o~:-o~ It got to the point where I would have to switch channels as soon as the adverts came on

They're going to destroy 24 IMO

Definitely need spoiler tags in the posts... as some people (like me) will be watching it but some weeks on the repeat shows.. so need the spoiler info on a per post basis... so try and mention which episode the spoiler is for!

I think its safer just to not discuss it at all! :)~:-)~

Anyone know when the DVD will be out anyway?

Now that i have Sky+ im undecided whether to watch it or not, i own the first 2 series so would like to buy the 3rd but if i have watched it already i doubt i will.

That Jake 2.0 starts tonight too, looks alright

It won't be out on DVD until 2006 because Sky negotiated this into the contract so that the repeat showings (after the season has finished) will draw larger audiences.

The last season was released as soon as the last episode was broadcast (might even have been before actually, can't remember), so you'd expect Fox to do the same this time around. Fingers crossed

and when is it due to end over there?

Squirrelecto

Going by the episode guide at http://www.fox.com/24 (which I struggled to look at without actually reading it!), episode 13 was the last to air, so 11 weeks to go?

If the R1 is out earlier, I'll have to bite the bullet and wait for the R2 as I want it to match the first two seasons :(

well now i have decided to watch it on sky, i will happily wait for the R2 (so it matches my others)

The first two series of 24 were released on R2 before their R1 equivalents were. They were released the day after the final episode was shown on UK terrestrial TV. Hoping that it stays the same this time around. Also hoping that Season 2 comes down to a reasonable price now.. :(

Well, that was interesting.

Couldn't get an accurate bodycount for the first hour though :(
