Cable choice minefield

Apart from price, how can you tell the quality of cable? I need to buy scart lead on the drum for a major wiring job. How can you tell if you really are getting higher quality for a higher price or if it's just cheap cable repackaged? I know oxygen free is always worth checking, but there must be other specifications to look for.

Any help would be much appreciated.
