View Full Version : Processor to Blue Sky balanced cables required

I've just ordered a set of Blue Sky's and a Lexicon MC8B processor and now need to sort out the cables.
I need 2 15m, 2 10m & 3 6m cables - where from? I know I can go to a music shop and get microphone leads from there, but are they good enough and will they do them long enough? I just orderd some brackets from Canford for the BS's and while on their site had a look at their balanced cables, but the longest I could see were 10m.
Also do I need Male>Male, Male>Female or Female>Female XLR connectors (forgot to check when I had the BS's on demo  )?

I can't help on the matter of where to get the cables from, but you should need Male->Female leads, as XLRs use one for inputs and one for outputs, to stop sound engineers, out of their minds on drugs and distracted by groupies, blowing up expensive kit

I deeply resemble that remark w)
As a sound engineer I may have never blown up anything (well not that I've admitted to anyway  ), but as for being off my head on drugs..........
and as for the groupies, we are the last ones to get a look in as we are packing it all away while everybody else is down the pub :x~:-x~

You're saying you've never experienced the levels that some groupies will sink to for a backstage pass? :o~:-o~
(I haven't either, but I know people who have)
I haven't found anywhere selling pre-made up 15m XLR leads either. :(

I;d have thought Groundy could do them. Scorpion Cables.
If not The Chord Company will do leads to length

Well I don't suppose working for church groups is the right enviroment for getting laid by the groupies :D~:-D~
note to self: remeber that just because you don't like 'boy bands' doesn't mean its not a good idea to do the sound for them

I did think about Scorpion Cables, but they do not mention XLR cables on their web site. I'll PM Groundy and ask anyway.
Do you have a web address etc for Chord? I'll take a look if I can find them.
