View Full Version : Anyone know this film?

It was on BSB (yes, the square dish) many many years ago.
Some kids come up with a neural processor, and program a little robot with it. Everything is going fine but the robot is a tad evil and they decide to shut it down. Then the girl in the film dies for reason I can't remember, and they decide to take neural processor out the robot and put it in the girl's brian. She then starts acting like the robot, with it's evil ways.
The robot had a giant orange head, which in the end of the film breaks out of the girls body.
Never seen the film since, and always wondered what it was called. Can anyone help?

Was this before or after the merger with SKY, as I still have the guides for it in the loft and can look it up for you.
PS great day them with the BSB never stopped watching it until Sky took over.8)~8-)~

It was after Sky bought out BSB, and during the runout period where the "original" films were all ones you'd never heard off before.
Fantastic picture via BSB, and such a tiny dish by comparison with the Sky system of the time.

I went in the loft (boy it was warm) but from the mags I looked at I did not recognise it.
I will ask my mate Thor to have a look at this thread he is very good on films.:censored:
As to the Squarial I once had 6 inch of snow on it and it was still coming in at full strength, it never was any thing but a perfect picture. I think DMAC was a better system than the one they use now DMAC2? It was also cheap with a movie channel I'm now practically paying twice that much for stuff I never watch with no movies.

When you consider how good the reception was with BSB, especially in rain or snow, why did anybody put up with the Astra picture?
Thanks for checking through the program guides, very much appreciated. I thought I'd try again with the internet to find this, using google. It's not the first time I've tried to find this one, but this time got a result.
Thanks again for you help.
Paul is a new kid in town with a robot named "BB". He befriends Samantha and the three of them have a lot of good times together. That is, until Samantha's abusive father throws her down some stairs and kills her. In an effort to save her life, Paul implants BB's computer brain into Samantha's human brain.

My mate Thor came back with "It's directed by Wes Craven and is called Deadly Friend (1986)." at 11.21 last night but I have just read my mail, :censored: I come over here to post it, it looks as though you beat me to it. Sorry Thor.

thanks for asking Thor. Last night, I for the fist time got the right combination of search terms in Google. Try going for neural, implant, brain, robot and see how many hits you come back with!
Checking for DVDs, and it's only available in VHS from the US.
