View Full Version : Interconnect For SKY+ To PJ ?

Which would be my best option for connecting my SKY+ box to a PJ with an s-video connection, would it be s-vid to s-vid or RGB scart to S-Vid or something else ? Probably looking at a run length of about 5m.
Component connection will be taken up by DVD (Via VGA adapter).

Do you not have the option of using scart at all, as this would give you a better pq ?
I would think that a straight through connection would give you the same PQ as a converter, does you're PJ then do any scaling or de-interlacing, as this might make a difference.Hopefully someone else with better PJ knowledge can help out here.

what PJ will you be using?

Im 95% decided on a Optoma H30, unfortunately the only connections on the back are s-video and vga..but they supply both a rgb scart converter and a component converter for the vga interface..and if I want to use both then it means swapping around all the time..not something I relish the thought of..so I will be utilising the vga-component connection for my DVD player.

I see that you have a 2802 (and yes I know, you have already got some cables), you could use this do do you're video and audio switching at the same time. You have 2 component in's, so you could go like this -
DVD to 2802 (component to component)
Sky+ to JS scart to component box (scart to scart)
JS box to 2802 (component to component)
2802 to Optoma H30 (component to HD15(VGA))
I know this will involve extra cost, BUT it means, just one feed to the PJ and ease of use(well a little anyway).
This may work, I am not entirely sure, so come on you PJ guys, give this man a hand.
I hope this helps.
