I just had a read through the new Sky monthly magazine and on the last page advertising about thier next issue I saw they have an article on the new HBO show Deadwood (http://www.hbo.com/deadwood/). It stars Lovejoys Ian Mcshane as Al Swearengen a corrupt Bar/whorehouse owner, Timothy Olyphant stars as Seth Bullock a former sheriff of Montana He and his friend Sol Star played by John Hawkes who travel to Deadwood to start up a Hardware shop.
Deadwood has the most swearing in it than any other series I have seen it seems like the writer had just descovered how to swear  . There are 13 episodes in the first series and it has been renewed for a second series with HBO ordering 11 episodes so far for series 2.
Here is a Sky Press Release (http://www.skypublicity.co.uk/press_o.asp?rel=712) comfirming what I saw in this months sky magazine.
It is defiantly worth a watched I enjoyed every epsiode :D~:-D~ .

Funny you mention the swearing. Encaser posted about this series on some Western thread (http://www.avtalk.co.uk/forum/index.php?t=msg&goto=83505&rid=9&SQ=1091577610) and said the same thing. It must be serious!

Yea I completely agree with what he said. Ian Mcshane is brilliantly cast as Al the murdering pub/whorehouse owner. The swearing mainly consists of cxxx)t and fxxx)k just think worse than the osbournse's :D~:-D~

Sky are also going to be premiering the excellant Carnivále in September (I think) on the FX Channel. Another great show with an amazing cast and well worth tuning in for.
Shame we can't get either in HD :( I got an ep of Carnivále in 1080i and it looks the dogs.

If you've got a htpc I'd suggest you play them on that and get to be able to avoid logos, ads and watch a few at a time w)
I certainly found myself saying cs at people (in mind or out loud :o~:-o~) more than usual after watching this show :D~:-D~ I'd also suggest a few beverages be drunk whilst viewing, just to get that bit closer to the characters ;)~;-)~

One of the most original shows on television, the underrated and sorta-popular Carnivale: The Complete First Season will hit R1 DVD on December 7th. HBO Home Video will give this one the deluxe box set treatment, complete with all twelve first-season episodes in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.

There's an article about Deadwood in the Sky mag and it's going to be on Sky One Sept. 21st at 10pm. Not a bad timeslot and being a Tuesday offering good viewership potential. One wonders if some censor nutters will air their disgust at the swearing content, cause it's big. Swearing, sex and nudita and drugs and violence, it's got it all.
I find it strange that there's nothing for Carnivále at all which starts on the 5th at 9pm on FX289 with the first two eps back to back. More info http://carnivale.fxuk.tv/schedule.asp
Shame Sky never bought The Wire as that's yet another kick ass HBO cop show.

There are billboards up everywhere for this and the interviews I've seen with Ian McShane have been entertaining. Can't wait for tonight's opening episode.

Yeah juboy, that's the one. Season 2 was top notch too but as 1 is only now appearing on dvd, God knows how long before 2. HBO have some killer shows but are usually slow and expensive on releases, no doubt due to its subscription status. Season 3 is now starting stateside and is fighting fit.
