Anybody using/used these products at all and were they any good?

I used the impregnated cloths that Russ Andrews sells for about £3.95 to treat all my home-made speaker cable terminations. No idea if it really makes much difference audibly but it certainly shines up the wire and banana plugs noticeably.

Thanks. Just looking into the "little tweaks" side of things to maybe improve the sound some more. Currently use alcohol to clean all the banana plugs etc. Can't say I've noticed any sound improvements though!

I figured it'd take me roughly 15 years to get through the standard packs of that stuff, so I just took a chance with the £4 mini-pack from RA. For £4 it covered 12 banana plugs, 12 bare cable ends and all my hi-fi interconnects and mains plugs. Has to be worth a try really.

If you use the alcohol elsewhere it does make a big difference ;)~;-)~

Effects are limited and best done once every 5 years or so, unless you have open fires / smoker etc

I find that alcohol makes a greater difference on the video side of things, especially for DLP projection. The upside is that rainbows disappear completely, the downside is that the picture can become a bit softer and lose some focus. If you use too much the picture can become very unstable appearing to jerk around randomly. Moderation is the key.

Apparently the next release of the Lumagen's firmware will have a compensation mode for excess alcohol. A spokesman for Faroudja said they didn't need it, because their picture already looks soft and can jerk quite a bit in places

That was a joke BTW Crystallio owners

You can do the same thing as those expensive little tins for alot less if you know what you are trying to clean....
