First show tonight and what a show it was. Three good guests - Tom Cruise, Billy Connolly and Kelly Holmes - all of whom were very lively and entertaining. Cruise in particular came across really well I thought

Anyone else see it? :)~:-)~

As always, Parkinson shows why he is indeed the King of chat shows, he actually listens to his guests and lets them speak and goes with the flow. Tom Cruise was excellent, and Billy Connolly as usual had me roaring with laughter. Pity about the ad breaks though..

Rather than skating around it, perhaps you could just get to the point you're trying to make about the sig?

Really enjoyed his first show and thought he did well interviewing his guests unlike Wossy the other night who was dreadful in my opinion which was a shame as I also like his show and am glad they aren't in direct competition.

Billy Connelly needs a whole show to himself though as for a 15 minute interview you probably get one question and answer out of him.

Kelly Holmes was good and I think the interview was the right lengh and you could really see she was in awe of the company she was in

Dont worry, I am sure Connelly will appear several more times this series.

That's one way of putting it. I just hope they had her seat dry cleaned afterwards

Are you on the show yourself next week?

Parky is definitely king of the talk show hosts! That was the first interview I have seen with Tom Cruise that didn't show him squirming in his seat. When I have seen him on other talk shows (all US ones) eg The Tonight Show with Jay Leno he always looks very uncomfortable. One thing that did annoy me though...what was with the extreme closeups when Tom was answering a question. It was so close that the top and bottom of his head were cut off the screen! :?~:-?~:???:

All the ladies get moist when Billy talks about his "jobbies".

Quite scary watching Parky tonight. They seem to have arranged the guests in order of size, so when they zoom out to a group shot, you've got Lenny Henry (who's MASSIVE) on the end, then Matthew Pincent (who's smaller than Lenny :o~:-o~ ), and Frank Skinner who looks like Jeanette Krankie in comparison :o~:-o~  I've seen Frank live and he's small but he looks way smaller here

See that the guests are getting less a-list as the series goes on :(

Yeah, but it's always nice to see Frank.

I'm glad he didn't interview REM. As much as I like their music, they are so boring in conversation

Woss has got to be hitting Parky's choices, that and Parky's fee.

But Barry Humphries is bound to show up sometime, they are always good together.

Not bothered much with Parky so far but I get the impression there'll be canned laughter soon what with the ott audience applause. It's as if they're trying to make all the years he was on the beeb and stuffy, to give the air if something new and better. Seems cheap to me. The Meg Ryan injoke is thinly veiled; for him getting peeved at someone who actually dared to take offence at him/not like him and show it and then getting stabbed for it ad nauseum.

Ant and Dec out first tonight? Doesn't that mean that they rank as the 'most important guests' on the show? :?~:-?~:???:

Makes me wonder if Woss and Parkinson are gonna do the Leno and Letterman thing of having the same guests pop up a few weeks between them...

Ricky was ok but the interview quite short. I found the other 2 interviews quite boring.
