OK, I have a room that is my little hide away. :)~:-)~

I have just had it re-papered in lining paper, but am unsure what colour to paint it!

Should I go for an Ice Storm 1/2 or a nice calm blue shade?

Which would work better for a little cinema setup.

Thanks

I'd go for the neutral grey if I were you (my room is grey too incidentally, although not ice storm).

My room is a very neutral magnolia/eggshell/cream colour. Would like to paint it but I can't be arsed and don't know what colour!

In the end I have opted to paint it in Celestial Cloud 1, which comes out like a sea blue/green.

I stuck a peice of paper to the wall with 4 different colours I liked, and the CC won.

To cut down on room reflections which will reduce contrast, matt black will be ideal. however, not everybody likes the dungeon look, so the neutral grey that Deckard suggested is what I would go for. In my case, I colour matcked Kodak 18% grey (Dulux 6000n) and painted the walls (above ear height) and ceiling in that colour. The lower walls are a matching grey carpet which helped remove the s;ap echo I had in the room, and the screen wall is black carpet.

18% grey is neutral so any reflected light from it will not colour cast the screen at all, so you shouldn't have any negative effects using it.

Pics on my website if you're interested.

I went with Icestorm 2 on the ceilings and halfway down the walls to the dado rail and then Icestorm 4 on the bottom half.

I was worried that I'd turn the room into a cave when doing this but suprisingly its turned out a fresh and clean looking room.

Certainly help a lot with regards to reflections and projected images.

I had Ice Storm up on the wall along with the other 3, but I just decided that although the room has sunlight all day long, it was just that little bit too much.

The celestial cloud 1 changes colour depending on the amount of light coming into the room, but with all the lights out, black out curtain up and the PJ going it looks cool. I need to take some pics and put them up.
