Hi, my first time on this forum, I'm looking to resolve a problem I have with my Amp......I cannot control the sound with my Virgin HD box controller? Does anyone know what the remote control code for a yamaha dsp ax620 is?
Any help is appreciated. |

Looks like it depends which remote you have.
There is a full list of remotes and codes here: http://www.virginmedia.com/help/tv/v....php#types_1-2

Thanks for the link. but I've already tried the code given by Virgin, this doesnt work, I don't think it matters which remote you have, I just need the correct code for yamaha? is thst not how it works?

Which code have you tried? According to that list of remotes it could be either 002 or 4700
Check and double check you are doing it correctly. It always takes me at least 1000 times before I get it right on a sky box.

Well yes, that does make sense, but I was told that there could be more codes for a yamaha amp than what Virgin have, after all, not every yamaha device will use the same code, will they?
I was hoping some one had the same setup and had already worked it out. I know the amp is quite old, but it works well and the only issue is having to use two remotes. Or but a new amp? |

But the point here is that your amp is not compatible with the VM remote. All the codes are programmed into the remote and if a working code for your amp is missing then it just wont work. So it is not a matter of working it out, but simply a matter of it not working by the looks of it.
You could always work your way through some of the other codes on the off chance that one of them might just work - but there are an awful lot of codes to try. Other than that you could look at getting a universal remote. Mark.

Ok, how much approx does a universal remote cost? Any ideas on what kind of remote would be best to work on a Sony Bravia, Yamaha dsp ax620, ps3 and a sony DVD player?

They start from about £20 for the cheap & chearful type and go up to several hundred pounds for the likes of the Pronto touch screen remotes.

Have a look at the range of Harmony remotes Here to get an idea of the different type and prices. But be aware that no univeral remote (that I know of) can directly control the PS3 as that uses Bluetooth and all the remotes are IR with some also able to use RF. For the PS3 you will need an additional box such as This. Mark.
